Nora – Questa Notte

A secret weapon of the DJs’ DJ, Mark Seven, as used in his Stop Don’t Stop mix which is still available for download (at time of writing) from the coolinthepool.com website. Mark likes to keep his diggin’ discoveries close to his chest and this track was only id’ed after it had stumped the spotters in the DJHistory forums by a friend of mine who, with a little persuasion, divulged it to me and I was able to procure a copy. Two years has passed and it’s safe to assume that Mark has mined plenty of other undiscovered gems from the crates in addition to what he already has lurking in his superb collection. This appears to be a lesser known instrumental version of Mike Mareen’s Dancing In The Dark, complete with lots of strange squeaky noises; as if someone in the studio decided to incorporate the sound of kids playing with various noise producing toys, into the mix.

Hello Pinky,
i just came across your page and i would like to inquire about the artiste behind this album. I am helping out a good friend of mine who loves this song so much. Sadly, the artiste doing this song is not featured on the album cover.
Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Hans

Hi Hans,
Sorry but I don’t have any additional info that would be of help I am afraid. Good luck with your quest.

Hi Pinky,
Was this tune or a version similar to it used in the Airplane mix on Beats in Space a few years back?
Sounds very similar – the BiS one might even be the vocal version.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil, not familiar with that BiS mix I’m afraid. There seem to be quite a few variations of this track under a couple of titles hence the confusion of the bods on DJHistory.

Yes, it’s the track:
Mike Mareen – Dancing In The Dark (Galactica Mix)
but it’s not the same as this version although similar. The bods over on DJ History were discussing the similarities on the thread I link to above.
