Not strictly a ‘new release’ but it’s recent enough as it was made available from December. As with most vinyl releases nowadays, I’m sure there was only a limited pressing but there should be some copies left available for purchase in some dark corner of the internet, however I wouldn’t sit on your arse thinking about it for too long. It’s excellent to see Microworld getting new material out, especially on vinyl – I’ve given up waiting for his debut album to also be released on the black wax, although to be fair, that’s more to do with whomever was/is running the Transmat label. This track is the main reason I bought it as I’m quite partial to Philip McGarva’s output as an electronic music artist and in this composition you are fêted to a velvety blend of subtle chords and agreeable sounds of which he is highly skilled at composing. That is not to overlook the other three contributions by three other artists which, if it wasn’t obvious enough already, should make this something essential to get if you still put value in the physical vinyl format – samples of which will be widely available online.
