Brawther – Negentropy

After last year’s sublime release on the fledgling Balance Alliance label, Brawther moves up the label family tree to have his latest EP pressed up on Balance Recordings itself, the first since the late 90s. A four-tracker that maintains his touchstone of delivering exquisitely smooth deep house vibes. What you get for parting with your hard-earned pennies is another mix of Asteroids And Star Dust that’s shorter and more dancefloor-friendly than the lengthy original mix for the headnodders (also featured on this blog); Negentropy which shows that the pedigree of Balance/Prescription sound is undiminished by the passing of time. Deep Down Paris is a slower paced affair, one for the nodders and toe-tappers and the beatless Neptune whisks you back out to space for it’s short duration to wrap up this fine EP.
